I am a student, not a journalist, but would like to submit it to a paper in a probably hopeless attempt to improve job prospects after I graduate. I would like to get into freelance journalism, but I can’t afford a subircsption to any of the website aimed at raising the profile of freelance journalists. Is it possible to submit an article to a paper directly? My paper of choice would be The Guardian if possible?
